Our Story & Academic Mission

Founded in 2015 by historian PhDr. Lukáš Cvrček, Ph.D., and joined in 2018 by historian and political scientist Mgr. Pavel Fabini, Czech Archives established the core of the first private historical research institution in the Czech Republic.

Interdisciplinary Research Built on Primary Sources

Letting historical documents speak with accuracy and context

Today, our institution connects experts across numerous historical disciplines. Our projects involve specialists in history, art history, archival science, ethnography, religious studies, paleography, anthropology, genealogy, literature, and political science. We collaborate with curators, graphic designers, and translators, enabling us to deliver complex, cross-disciplinary research projects.

Our primary emphasis lies on rigorous archival research and direct work with original primary sources. Whether assisting a descendant in Australia or the United States in proving Czech citizenship, or compiling a building history in the heart of Prague, every conclusion is backed by verified archival citations.

100% Discretion Guaranteed: Absolute confidentiality is an integral part of our work. Without the express consent of our clients, we never disclose their identity, family data, or the subject of their research to any third party.
